  I thought that feminism was the female equivalent male chauvinism. It’s done nearly as much harm…….

  BTW is an "oinker" a rhyming euphemism for "wanker" or is it in reference of a pig……???

  since the rev book is being studied currently, one particular newish, but 100% believing (i assume) witness expressed her anxiety about revelation 13:16-17.. 16: "and it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead,..".

  17: "and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.".

  anyway, after the book study was over and the chit-chatting started, the sister scooted up to the conductor and asked, .

  I lost many night's sleep over Revelations as a child. I get angry when I see a young child sitting quietly with fear in his/her eyes when Revelations is being discussed.

  When you think about it, exposing children to the book of Revelations is a sadistic thing to do.

  I agree. This is so true. The fear that it put in me was tremendous looking back. I used to go hot when a news item came on talking about war or if there had been an earthquake or something like that.

  As a child (about the ages 7 to 14) it did really depress me although at the time it didn’t register. But it was that kind of fear that got me going back when I was about 20. So it did have such a big hold over my life, which I resent now…..

  Do you ever watch something and wish that you could pick up your life and move into a scene. Well just before the attendant walks in that would be perfect. (apart from the other bloke being there. He could piss off too….).

  Got a great idea what to do with your ticket. You could find the biggest apostate on JWD who you could give your ticket to and send them off for a weeks cruise with your mum and sister.

  Some one like Dawg, who always has something to say (sorry Dawg but its true if your reading this), and after a weeks long intensive study in JWD’ism your mum will come back a new woman….

  Or jw facts. He would be good company, though he is a dad now, so not too practical…..but there is not a lot that he doesn’t know about what’s wrong with JW’s……

  Hello Littleblue,

  Thank you for sharing your story. An alarm bell went off in my head while reading through what you had to say. I am so sorry that you are feeling so down about everything.

  But please keep on sharing what you are going through. Sounds like you have a lot of pent up emotions and might need a little help in dealing with them.

  Just to comment on something that your mum asked of you. She asked you not to mention about the ‘negative’ of the truth, but she will be bombarding her with the 'positive'. I don’t see that as a balanced perspective. There are always 2 sides to a story as the saying goes.

  But please keep talking to us. PM me if you feel the need. I’m very understanding………

  That’s a very good point. The description of the ark and its artwork were very much a rip off of Egyptian symbols, and not original at all.

  The other interesting thing is the biblical descriptions of the ark. In Exodus it is described as the ornate gold chest that everyone is familiar with. But when you read the description in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 10 it is only described as a wooden chest. This would be more of an accurate rendition of what they would have been capable of achieving while in the wilderness. But the idea still was very much from an Egyptian source.

  Maybe god didn’t want to be left out and had the ark made so he could be like all the other gods……..

  There is no way that the ark could have been made in the wilderness. For a gold smith to make such an elaborate chest he would have needed at least a workshop and would never have been able to make it in the wilderness. It would have to be quite a sophisticated workshop as well. Only in Egypt would such a workshop have been available.

  The interesting thing is that the description of the ark is so very similar to other chests that have been found in royal Egyptian burial chambers, even down to the detail of the eyelets that the chest is carried on. But the difference between the biblical description of the ark and the Egyptian chests that I've seen is that there was a cat that sat on top rather than the cherubs that were supposedly on the ark.
